Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan and a must-visit place on your trip to India. The city is also called “the pink city” because of the pink-ish painted facades of houses in the city center.

Together with Delhi and Agra, Jaipur forms part of the Golden Triangle, a popular route for travelers in India. The pink city is also one of the most visited places in India.

Don’t miss out on these 14 amazing places to visit in Jaipur in 2 days.

14 Best Places to visit in Jaipur in 2 Days

Jaipur can be overwhelming. There’s chaos, lots of traffic, cows on the street, tuk-tuk drivers who follow you to take you around, lots of people, lots of noise, lots of smells, … the list is endless.

For your own comfort, it’s always better to roam around with another person. It’s not unsafe to be by yourself, but it can be exhausting. The city center is busy and chaotic. If you look like a tourist, a lot of people will see you as a source of money and try to sell you something. Being with another person makes it easier to deal with the hustle. I guess this is especially true for western-looking women.

From my experience, I can say that I was bothered by men in the street the most when I was by myself. I was bothered the least when I was with a male companion.

Anyways, this is part of the culture here and you’ll get used to it. It’s part of the travel experience and you should be up for it if you decide to travel to India. I am a blond, white girl traveling solo through India – if I can deal with it, so can you! 🙂

All in all, Jaipur was a great experience!

Best time to visit Jaipur

The best time to visit Jaipur is from October to March. During these months the climate is moderately warm and dry.

I visited Jaipur in late September, which was perfectly fine, too, but it was quite hot during the day with around 35°C.

Getting around in Jaipur

The best way to get around in Jaipur is by Uber or tuk-tuk. You can either take a tuk-tuk directly from the street or you call it via Uber. There’s a local version of Uber called “Ola”, which can sometimes be cheaper than Uber. Compare prices and go with what works best for you.

It is very common to hire a tuk-tuk driver for the entire day to take you to all the sights. The cost will depend on your bargaining skills. You should be able to get a driver for a day for around INR 600 (EUR 7.5). Simply ask in your hotel/hostel if they can recommend you a driver, and they should also know the adequate price for it.

Panna Meena Ka Kund

Panna Meena Ka Kund

Panna Mena Ka Kund is only a 10 minute walk from Amber Palace. So if you visit Amber Palace, you might want to stop by here, too.

Walking to Panna Mena Ka Kund is an experience. You’ll walk through a very local area and when I went, the street was full of goat poo. At least there are not many other tourists and you might even have the place to yourself except for some guards who are looking over the site.

I was hoping to get a photo of myself walking down the stairs, but there are security guards who told me that it was prohibited to descend the stairs.

Hawa Mahal

Hawa Mahal is a beautiful architectural artwork. It’s a palace in the middle of the city of Jaipur. The walls of Hawa Mahal are pink like most part of Jaipurs city center. If you want to enjoy the best view of Hawa Mahal, pay a visit to the Wind View Café rooftop terrace across the street of Hawa Mahal.

Locals come here to do pre-wedding photo shoots, and tourists come to take an instagramable shot. Be prepared to wait for your turn to take photos, as most likely you won’t be the only one there.

Best Traditional Restaurant in Jaipur: Chouki Dhani

Chouki Dhani, Jaipur, India

Chouki Dhani Resort is a must for dinner when in Jaipur! This was the most amazing culinary experience on my entire India trip.

Chouki Dhani is a resort village that aims to portray Indian traditions, including restaurants that offer a traditional Rajasthani dining experience.

The resort village is especially exciting for kids. There are several stalls with shows, attractions, traditional dances, etc. For me personally, the attractions were a bit too touristy, but you can skip that part and head straight to the restaurant for dinner.

Are 2 days in Jaipur enough?

Yes, you will be able to visit the best places of Jaipur in 2 days. If you’re not in a rush and you would like to indulge more in the bustling life of Jaipur, consider staying 3-4 days.

Is Jaipur safe?

Yes, Jaipur feels very safe. Due to the fact that it’s one of the most visited places by foreign tourists, locals are used to seeing foreigners. I personally felt safer in Jaipur than in Delhi.

Still, use your common sense and don’t go out at night by yourself, don’t go to places where there are no other people and take care of your belongings. If you follow these rules, Jaipur will hopefully be a great and safe experience for you.

Where to stay in Jaipur

If you’re looking for a budget-friendly place I highly recommend Mandala Backpacker Circle.

It’s a relatively new hostel (opened in August 2022) and it provides great value for the price. The staff is lovely, the food is delicious and they have an amazing rooftop terrace overlooking the city. They offer dorm rooms, as well as private rooms.
